The Northern Block
Following our last post on type foundries we thought it would be nice to share with you one of our latest studio projects which involved creating a new website for type foundry, The Northern Block. It was nice to already be well acquainted with our subject matter and ready to get to work on the structure of the site to help visitors gain as much knowledge about each typeface before investing in one.
The site that we’ve created really aims to mirror and match Jonathan Hill’s – the man behind all of The Northern Block’s carefully crafted typefaces – contemporary style. We used a grid-based system, with an emphasis on functionality and clarity. The whole type library is accessible from the homepage and visitors can really play and explore the individual typefaces using the type tester tool.
