Tsto
This post is a tribute to Tsto a creative agency, based in Helsinki, Finland. The Studio are proud of their can do attitudes, which brings their to-the-point design to life. Their projects are always based on concrete concepts, each beautifully crafted and completely different from the next.
Flow Festival 2011 branding stands out a mile. Primarily held together by the bespoke typeface created as an approachable and humorous font. The design spans from idea that festival’s crowds are an urban tribe, this makes for a strong base. The arrangement symbolizes the repetition and the rhythm of music. Working across a wide range of mediums from a website, to signage and stationary. A completely original idea and approach to a festival branding.
The Vuoden Huiput- (The best in the year in Finnish advertising and design) is my personal favourite. Mixing type with image initially seems ascetic, but they both combine to make homonyms. In Finland these are rare, making the viewer see these design signs in different ways.
Regina is a three-piece band, their music is heavily influenced by the young and indie music of the 90’s. Represented in Tsto’s design of a new logo, single and full album cover. Again showcasing good type in a conceptual way.
